RE: Error in starting RAS



Just as a note, further down the report in Bugzilla, the bug was stated to be actually fixed in BS 4.1.14.

Hmmm...That was the message as was reported by the County Elections Officer.  I had her read it to me right from her AVTS R6 screen.  I have viewed the posted report as follows:

 

Gems 1.18.11
Win CE 3.0 July 5, 2002
Windows XP
 
Tab is aware of this problem but I'm entering it into Bugzilla.
 
Configured the TS and Windows XP to use RAS. >From the TS when I click 
on 'Connect' I get an error msg saying 'Ras unable to connect.  Incorrect setup 
information specified.'

This is now fixed and will be in BS 4.1.13.  
The problem was that the RAS Phone entry was being corrupted because the 
totalLen variable was not being set before saving.

The software/firmware combinations providing my end-user's error are listed below.  How do I proceed from here?  Please advise.

·         Windows 2000 Server

·         GEMS 1.17.17

·         WinCE 3.0

·         Ballot Station 4.1.11

Curious:  what is the actual error message?  “Wrong information specified” or “incorrect set-up information specified”?  My search yesterday came up empty when I did a search on the former, as reported by James.

    I have taken a support call from a Georgia user who has reported the following error on the AVTS R6 unit:

 

·    Error in starting RAS.  Wrong information specified.

 

This is on WinCE 020808 / BS 4.1.11 using the 56k PCM/CIA MODEM.  I have checked all the user entry data for phone number, host name, username and password.  The unit pops this dialog box within moments of the command to dial.  This is a confirmed analog phone line.  Please advise.
