I had an idea a while back for this problem. We keep Docs in a secure
space on our Server here in McKinney, and if you need them you put in a request
and we e-mailed them to you. No
one here followed up so it has gone to the wayside.J mike Mike Brown 1611 Wilmeth Road McKinney, TX 75069-8250 972.542.6000 800.433.8683 -----Original
Message----- If we were to create a
site for these documents, how would they be kept secure? We can use a zipfile
password, but there might be so many documents, that people would
constantly be inquiring as the password to this document or that. We can setup a restricted
"staff only" directory on the website, where a username and password
is required for access. Any constructive
thoughts? Ian ----- Original Message

Perhaps we could start with just a list of documents that people think would be
worthwhile having. Tab -----

Acceptance Test Plan I am
trying to establish such an internal site for documents as they relate to
support issues. These are beginning to take shape, but
as you can imagine I am finding 2 scenarios. 1.) No documentation exists. 2.) Documentation exists, but it is old, outdated, so it
must be revised. This is
being done on a “as time allows” basis so it will be after this election year
before anything appears. Larry J. Dix Global Election Systems (972)-542-6000 -----Original Message----- "do
we have a site where these various forms, procedures, plans reside for the
whole of the company?" I'm
willing to bet that we have re-invented the wheel a dozen times for such items
as this. Wouldn't it be amazing if we did have a "site" and no
one knew about it. I've got 27 versions of everything for each proposal
we've done. I don't know how useful what our materals would be to
you or not without your reviewing them. Assuming there will be
another sales meeting some day, we should each bring an example of a
representative RFP doc and see what materials each region could contribute
to the others and from this we could create a "library" on the ftp
site. Then again, it could quickly devolve if everybody just dumped files
to it without some centralized editor reviewing its use. Someone would
have to "take responsibility" for it in order to maintain its
usefulness. But Tab, or anyone, ought to be able to go to the FTP and go
to a doc directory that is fairly organized by folder topic and get at least a
beginning example of what he needs. What ever happened to the
"documentation" that was being professionally done? -----

Acceptance Test Plan Tab, I’ve attached another type
of schedule, less detailed than what has been previously posted. As an aside to one and all
– do we have a site where these various forms, procedures, plans reside for the
whole of the company? If not,
should we have a repository for the same, with an index and directory? John -----Original Message----- To all support people; As part of our Nichols certification I am

anyone have any material that would aid in this task? Tab |
