RE: GEMS 1-17-11 Audio



Experience with PSINet would indicate that if it is in the docs, then they will attempt to test the code to see that it works.  I think we would be better off if it is not included.

Actually it is implemented.  You need to install the MS Speech SDK for it to work though.  It was done last year to head off some Soza nonsense.  Predictably, no one has expressed a lot of interest in using it though, since the voice quality is obviously not as good as a human recording, and it only does English.  It should I suppose be part of the user docs nonetheless.

 

Tell you what we probably should do though is disable the button if the Speech libraries aren't detected.  I'll look into it when I get back.

Could the TTS button in the Audio windows be removed in anticipation of 1-17-11 certification, as TTS will presumably not be implemented in the forseeable future.
