In the future, is there an easy way
to get the fonts in the AVTS units to match the fonts supported by
GEMS?
Steve Knecht called me on a AVTS unit
in Marin where the ballot image they setup in GEMS used the Arial Narrow
font. When they put the data diskette into an AVTS unit, it substituted a
Spencerian type font for the Arial Narrow that wasn't there. Steve's
workaround was to load into the AVTS unit, the Arial Narrow font files found in
the Windows/Fonts directory on his host computer to the same directory on the
AVTS unit. It worked, but there has to be a better way to make the two
systems compatible.
Any ideas?
