| BallotStation 4.1.6
and GEMS 1.17.17 definitely support multi-lingual audio, and we are
definitely able to record Asian languages for the AccuVote-TS audio
ballot.  The fact that a language is Asian has no bearing on the audio
recording.  The audio ballot comprises two components, operational and
election-specific.  Operational audio files are stored in corresponding
numerically identified TSText folders in the GEMS installation, while
election-specific audio files are recorded in concert with the election
configuration. Currently, only English, Spanish and French audio files are present in
TSText, but no Asian languages.  This explains why you only hear English
and Spanish audio ballots, even though the election has been defined with Asian
visual ballots.  In order to support Asian language audio ballots, the
necessary files have to be recorded with the language(s) in
question. Another
point:  remember that language text configuration on the AccuVote-OS ballot
is distinct from language configuration on the AccuVote-TS ballot, since the
AccuVote-OS does not inherently support language-based ballot creation.  It
is necessary to incorporate all language text into each text entity in order to
create a single multi-lingual paper ballot, where the AccuVote-TS is capable of
differentating ballots by language. Nel
