The
problem is a cabling issue to the printer. A good cable has several wires
removed. In the rush to deliver these units, it appears unmodified cables
were installed into a few of the project machines.
Try to
get a second printout. If it comes up with a "RETRY" message then it has a
cable which needs a FACTORY modification. As time permits please send the
unmodified units back to McKinney. Most of the units
shipped out should have been modified. Do not panic if you have any units
that require the modification. Larry has posted the workaround but let me
reiterate.
After power up the unit will give the first printout without a problem. Any requests for any other or additional printouts will give an error message asking to "RETRY". All that is needed is the feed lever on the printer to be lifted up and pushed back down, then press the "RETRY" button. A little extra training should suffice to get through the election. All further units shipped from McKinney or from wherever will have the proper modification. Sorry about the inconvenience.
