Dear Mr. Ristuccia,

I assume that you have received Ada Meloy, Esq.'s  January 6 letter 
demanding that you take down page located at 
http://osiris.978.org/~brianr/mirrors/nyu-are-morons/indidetails.txt on 
your website, which displays personal information, including social 
security numbers, of current and former New York University students.  You 
are not authorized to display the data contained in this file.  The posting 
of social security numbers and other personal contact information without 
authorization clearly encourages identity theft and other unlawful abuses, 
and the continued display of this data as part of your website puts the 
privacy of the persons whose names are in the file at serious risk.  This 
unauthorized display of social security numbers also is in clear violation 
of California Civil Code Section 1798.85, Confidentiality of Social 
Security Numbers.

I expect to hear from you at once confirming that you have removed this 
data from your website in order to avoid the necessity of legal action.
