Nel;
Information is trickling in from the field team on
this...The problem may be associated with a process that has been deployed by
the field tech. They are downloading the ballot into the SanDisk
and then loading the election on the R6 for QC. After they pull the
now programmed SanDisk and tested it for operation, they remove it, insert a new
SanDisk, Queue the next precinct and 'bingo', up pops the messages.
The AVTS also complains about not enough memory or something. They turn
the R6 off for about 45 seconds, power it back on and it all starts working
again. They QC the now programmed Sandisk, remove it and insert a new
one and the error returns.
They have omitted this QC testing portion from the
operation and are reporting no more instances of this error. Is this
common or does it indicate a buffer-type issue on the AVTS
R6?

Something was
disrupted in the transmission. The port was not started, the vote center
not queued, download not activated from Ballot Station, transmission
configuration information incorrect on Ballot Station, a cable was loose, etc.
Did you check all of the above?

Subject: I/O error
We have a GEMS server offering an
error dialog box when attempting to upload to an AVTS
SanDisk.
The
error message is titled "I/O Error" and the message states "Specified
network name cannot be found".
This error cannot be reproduced in the lab
using the same database. I have seen this error occur on our test
database in the deployment/test lab when user errors are made at the
queue stage. We have cleared this up by deleting the database from
GEMS and reloading it. This however, will nullify all of the cards
already made by this process.
Is there anyway to clear this condition up without whacking
the database?
- Windows 2000 Server 5CAL
- GEMS

- WinCE

- BallotStation 4.1.11
