Two or three years ago I bought a device from Motorola for use
in my old flip top phone that produced a dial tone. I was told that a
modem had to hear a dial tone and that is what this little black box
produced. You would plug it into the phone jack at the back of the AV and
then plug the Motorola cell phone into a cable coming from little box.
Worked well. They used the same type of device in Porto Rico with
Panasonic phones.
I could not find this type of device for the newer
phones.

Subject: RE: Cell Phones for Result
Transmission on AVTS
Would the Cell Phones require a null modem adaptor or
regular adaptor???
Jeff
We haven't tried
any in Vancouver yet. For that matter, we haven't tried many land
modems yet. There isn't any reason something like this
wouldn't work with a supported cell phone, but it just hasn't been
tried. We can give you a straight answer to the question once we get
some in to try, but I don't know the realistic timeframes for that to
happen. In the mean time you (or anyone) is welcome to blaze the trail
if you like. If it works, it works.

Is
the AVTS unit capable of using a Cell Phone for Result
Transmission??? If so, what
Cell Phones, and what adaptors/components are
needed???
Thanks,
Jeff
