I don’t
know about a mixture of colors.
However, when doing demonstrations out in Maryland last week, for those
people that are color blind, the Red Highlighted Races when those races are
blank, cannot bee seen by those people that are color blind. Jeff -----Original
Message----- Greg, How about
getting a few opinions about that before the request is formalized. To my
way of thinking, another color assigned would detract from the Blank vote and
create a mish mash of colors, unless there was a color key or something on the
page. What do others think? -----

Jane's improved TSText (was RE: TSText Files - Where are control points?) Races
highlighted in red are obviously not voted. Could races under-voted be
highlighted with another colour? Greg -----

Jane's improved TSText (was RE: TSText Files - Where are control points?) the Cast
ballot button is still red in these - it needs to be green doesn't it? -----

possible for you to post just those four files on the ftp with a password, so
those of us with slow modems can download and replace them? (In addition
to 1.18.8 that is). -----

1.18.8 will be out momentarily. The files changed are:
RVD_Instructions.rtf
RVD_NoVotesInstructions.rtf
VEF_RecordedText.rtf
VIF_Instructions.rtf The
changes are to English (1033) only. If the Spanishly inclined among you
could take these and make 1034 equivalents it would be appreciated. Ken -----Original

anticipate this being released in the near future - for use in the March CA

TSText Files - Where are control points? A
heartfelt thank-you goes out to Greg, Cathi, Jane, and Rodney who all sent in
their TSText directories. It looks like Jane is the person guilty of the
improvements I saw in Los Angeles. Well done everyone. We will
incorporate the best of these into the next TSText release. Everyone
should review these when they come out and follow up with their own suggestions
and requirements. We need to settle into a standard set that works for
all but very exceptional cases. Ken -----Original
Message----- You
have also reminded me of something I was meaning to post after I got back from
Los Angeles in December but completely forgot. Someone created a
really nice TXTest set that I saw during my demo there with Chen. It had
for example the Next text in reverse green, better font
sizes, etc. Whoever did it did a really great job. I have my
theories as to whom, but won't tip my hat for fear of being incorrect. At
any rate, would that individual please raise his or her hand, and then send me
a zip of the directory. Why have you keep it to yourself? We
will incorporate it into the next release. Yes, a
version number in the TSText file is a good suggestion and is in the
works. I hope that in another couple of iterations of VIBS TSText will
calm down again and this problem will solve itself somewhat. The AVOS
AccuBasic reports went through the same thing back in the day. Ken -----Original
Message----- Could we put
some form of version ID onto the TSText stuff, (a readme or something) so we
can keep track of items like the instruction pages etc. Also, if folks
make up a new page that is nice, perhaps you could send it to support so that
we could all look at it and use it as appropriate. Steve Knecht |
