Or only at the beginning instructions?
So you are saying the voter would press 6
to hear the next candidate?
I guess I can see that that would stop the
confusion issue we are talking about in the ordering, I'll have
to give it some thought. So they press,
6.
To Vote For George Buss, Press 5 (So they press 6
again)
To Vote for Ken Clark, Press 5 (So they press 5, then do they
press 6 after that?)
With this approach are keys 4,5,6 the only ones needed?
Still going to have to think about it.

Its a state
machine. 4 advances to the previous candidate, or the previous race if
its the first candidate. 6 advances to the next candidate, or next race
if its the last candidate. 5 toggles the vote in for the current
candidate. As I said in the original message, the audio for the current
candidate repeats until a key is pressed.
If there is
something specific about the specific example that you didn't follow, I'll try
to clarify. It was supposed to be self-explanatory. If there was
something confusing about it, its important that I know what, specifically,
was confusing.

What would be very helpful is to see a complete Logical
Diagram for your intended VIBS dialogue by data field.

Here is a
possible VIBS script for the straightforward case. I would like your
feedback. I think it lends itself well to straight-party and
vote-for-more-than-one, but I want to establish a baseline first.
Each paragraph in the script repeats until a key is pressed, with the
exception of the first paragraph (the initial header for each race).
Voters do not have to listen to the complete message before hitting a
key. Thus, they can skip through candidates by repeatedly pressing
6.
One issue to
think about. A voter must to listen to each candidate in
the race, even if the race is fully voted after the first candidate.
We could assign keys (say 7/9) to skip to the next and previous
races thus "shortcutting" the candidates that they can't vote
for anyway. I'm not convinced that adding instructions to this
effect each race is a "win" however. I'd like some thoughts on this
issue.
