I went back and read your attached email. Why has this
"got to stop"? In fact, after reading your email I don't see where it is
asked and answered at all. I asked is 10 ballot types the
limit? No where in your attached email is there an answer to that.
What are you talking about? Stop already with the allusions to prior
emails.
I didn't understand the following part of the email, so if it
is explained in the following paragraph, then you'll have to forgive
me. But, your statement that this WILL HAVE TO STOP doesn't make sense to
me. Do you think just because you write something that everyone
understands it (If I don't understand it maybe others don't either) or
perhaps you have not explained it sufficiently OR (more likely) I'm losing brain
cells at such a rapid pace, that you're completely wasting your time
communicating with me at all. Never the less I don't see what you're
refering to here:
Okay, make sure you have whomever is running
this show set up a test database so you know well in advance that GEMS is
going to do what you want. Don, I ask again, who is that person.
(its me) It sounds like it can be done with a
vgroup1 set up for the parties, and a vgroup2 set up for "declared" and
"declined to state", but this person needs to hit the keys and find out. I don't get what this means. Do you think that John Elder,
Karen Rhea, or Harm Patria (these are my "assigned" project mangers,
understand what you meant? I don't think so. I am not out here
trying to change the structure of Global management, which you seem to have
taken a personal cause in. I am dealing with the real world of running
elections at customer sites. There is a "spiritual" trick here.
That is, can you find a place where you and I are on the same team? Not
in opposition? I am on your side Ken. If not, then just say "no,
ten is the limit". Done - say no more. Spyrus limitations are not
reflective of Ken Clark! I think you are brilliant. Don't take it
personally.

Subject: RE: Spyrus Party Limits
This has been
brought up and answered. See attached. This has got to stop,
Steve.
Clearly you would
assign a spyrus to the dems and reps, and another to the fringe parties.
There is no limit, now, or in the future.
Ken
An update and Question: Both democratic and
republican parties will have two ballot styles that will be handled as
seperate voter groups in the precincts, due to the "decline to state"
option in March 2002. This takes us up to 10 parties, assuming that we
organize this within GEMS as a Dem with central committee on ballot (if they
registered as DEM) or a DEM without central committee race on ballot, if
they declare at the precinct. In other words we'll add a DEM Decline
to State Party and a Republican Decline to State Party. Is that the
limit on the Spyrus? Now and in future?
