We have been running tests with thick ovals recently.

Using white paper stock only.

Use pantone 130U orange or pantone 032U red for wide ovals and you should be
fine.  The printing company must use clean plates.

Using black or any other color use the standard oval.  Generate with 600 dpi
or greater.  Ballots generated at 300 dpi creates ovals too thick to count
accurately.  You will pick up marks

Do not use wide ovals colored paper stock.  Only white stock has been
tested.  The difference between the oval color and paper stock color may
cause problems.
