I am not sure if the problem has been fixed, but in the past the use of
dummy races with no candidates has resulted in an inability to upload results.
Cards appeared to upload OK, but a check revealed that no results were
being sent. Is this still the case?

Use voter group specific headers.I pointed out to Greg that it is possible to place races on ballots with no candidates and no horizontal and vertical lines, linked to the appropriate voter group. In this manner it would be possible to force voter-group specific ballots in the case of acclamations. Reporting sets are defined for purposes of reporting results for non-dummy races. Greg is testing this now.We already do voter group specific ballots. It is the reporting aspect that is in 2.0. You don't need voter-group linked races to get voter group specific ballots. It would of course be nice if GEMS would allow forced voter-group splitting of ballots, even without voter group-linked races defined. Turnout for each of the 10 voter groups for the <N.P.> affiliated Mayoral race would be addressed by 2.0 firmware (according to Ken).Notwithstanding voter group specific headers.Headers are placed on all card faces common to the plate. You can get unique plates without dummy races. What I assume Greg is doing is using the Times Voted field of the dummy race to get voter turnout? I don't think that races without candidates show up on the post-election reports though.KenBy defining voter group-linked dummy races to the card fronts unique plates will be created for each card. |
