QUAD MEDIA ANNOUNCES
AGREEMENT WITH ELECTION SYSTEMS & SOFTWARE,
INC.
Technology Allows Disabled Voters
Access to Election Polls

Quad Media announced its agreement with
Election Systems & Software, Inc. (ES&S),
making ES&S the exclusive distributor of Quad
Media's accessibility products to the political
voting/election industry. The multi-year contract
is expected to generate in excess of $40 million
dollars in revenue for Quad Media by the end of
its term.

"ES&S's distribution of Quad Media's
fully American's with Disabilities Act (ADA)
compliant Portable Interactive Kiosk (PiK)
products will offer the election industry a means
to make polling places across the nation
accessible to all citizens," states Quad
Media President Bernard LaFleur. "The
product will be equipped with accessibility
technologies developed by the Trace Research and
Development Center at the University of Wisconsin
at Madison."

"The PiK is a practical, commercially
feasible solution for voters who have functional
limitations or disabilities to access standard
election technologies unassisted," states
ES&S Corporate Product Manager Steve Bolton,
"The PiK product is expected to be available
to ES&S's customers in selected markets this
year."

Quad Media's Portable Interactive Kiosk will
enable people with a range of disabilities to
exercise one of their most fundamental American
rights, the right to vote," states Bill
Gates, CEO of Microsoft Corporation.
Located in Pulaski, Virginia, Quad Media designs

kiosks to government, retail, and other corporate
clients.
The Omaha Nebraska-based Election Systems &

Public announcement of the
agreement between Quad Media and ES&S was made by
Virginia Lieutenant Governor, John Hager at the Hotel
Roanoke's Shenandoah Ballroom, on Tuesday August 11,
1998.
