Substitute Approval
Lesley,
The differences are the
ACS-30 card reader is less expensive but requires connecting to both a
serial port and a PS1 (keyboard or mouse) port. It can share the PS2
port with the keyboard or the mouse since it only uses this port for
power.
The ST-100 is more expensive
but only requires the use of a serial port. It gets its power from the
serial port so there is not other connection required.
For exact pricing you will
need to contact Ian since I do not have it.

Tab, what are the specs on the second card
reader and what are the distinguishing differences between the two?
What criteria should be considered when making a decision between these
two devices? Thanks! Lesley

Reader Substitute Approval
Is there any status update on the rcr to
approve a new external smart card reader device for attaching to
laptops and PCs (i.e., early voting).
