The unique ID issue
for challenge voters is a concern for South Carolina.
I have read the
posts on why we allow multiple entry of the same Challenge Voter Number, i.e
multiple unsynchronized devices issuing numbers, and have a possible
alternative.
If a jurisdiction
supplies, or will supply, as part of the polling place voter
registry , each voters County issued "Voter ID" number, we can use
this number as the challenge number.
By default a
counties voter ID is unique.
This might
necessitate the ID field be expanded to alpha/ numeric.
And of course we
could use Drivers License or SSN., but we would loose the County generated paper
trail, the voter registry.
