Write-In VIBS with the # key and ERROR Exception
Ken, in reviewing the language of the proposed script changes, the FL Div
and their evaluator Jim Kracht are wanting to change the write-in prompt
that cancels the write-in. See below
Currently, the write-in VIBS begins
with this repeating audio text file:
To enter letters of the candidate name, press 2 through 9. For space,
press 1.
Then this text file plays:
To cancel your write-in vote, press 0.
These two prompts cycle until a letter is pressed.
Since later on the 0 key functions as more of an acceptance key,
they want to change the cancel function to the # key. Can this be done
without too much effort? They have requested this several
times.
Note that I anticipate using the # key can cause problems in the initial
testing since I know of no keypads that have the # key available other
than those we intend to have built. Jeff Hallmark has made the only
keypad with a # key I have seen. Most people are using keypads with no #
key.
As I write this I have tried a keyboard and I get an SEH Exception
c0000005 error when using a qwerty keyboard while in the write-in
section. Pressing the 3 key above the letters (not on the keypad) causes
the error. Pressing 4 gives error 80000002. The error takes me to the
WinCE desktop.
I am using BS release 4.1.7. in test count mode with the Buena Vista
database.
