Not
practical, IMO.
One of the
key advantages to the GEMS design is that there isn't a "canvas" or even "test"
phases. You upload, you print reports, you go home. They are all the
same administratively.
You are
talking about is new tools upload just upload the audit logs, reports and
administrative dialogs to track which audit logs are uploaded and which are not,
and whether they are in sync with the latest ballots uploaded. Not to
mention the fact that the time you really want the log to find out what the
hell went wrong is election night.
Its gotta
ride with the ballots, or not at all.
