Please
add a tone as part of the initial boot sequence on the AV-TS R6 unit.
Currently when the unit is powered up, the screen is blank for about 12 seconds,
and there are no other noises in the system to indicate that you've actually
activated the power switch correctly.
Criteria:
- The
tone ("beep") should occur as soon as the CPU has begun its boot sequence
(i.e., 1 to 2 seconds after reset is lifted). Hopefully there are
lower level software commands that can activate the speaker without having to
fully load Windows CE first.
- The
frequency of the tone can be anywhere in the audible range of most people
(i.e., 1kHz to 8kHz).
- The
duration of the tone should be between 1/2 second and 1 second.
- The
volume of the tone should be loud enough to hear it but not necessitate
covering your ears. Severely audibly challenged folks will just have to
turn up their hearing aids. The volume of human speech is adequate (i.e.
70 to 80 dB). I don't know if you would have that kind of control at a
lower level of programming.
The
power switch is being changed to a momentary ON (logic power control by the PIC
chip), so there will be no audible click of the switch.
