Can I get an update on whether Pollbook is presently intended
to be modified by the April 17 election to allow LOAD/SEND functions without
leaving pollbook, re-inserting MGR card ,etc, 27 times for polling places and 6
times for EV sites on election night. We will have several sites there
reviewing our procedures. This came up in the meeting today from
Elaine.

Subject: AVTS Poll Book Accumulation at Central Location Background: When accumulating via the load
function in Pollbook, presently each time a new vote
center is encountered on election night, the person running pollbook has to exit
pollbook, Re-enter pollbook, insert manager card, type in 1111, and re-build
pollbook data for the new vote center. For a small election in Oakland,
this will occur 27 times on election night. Major pain in the butt. For a
large election, it could occur 1117 times.
Request: Give pollbook an option so that when
it is centrally accumulating vote center disks, you don't have to leave pollbook
to do the upload. Perhaps we can library the files when they are first
created by ballot station, then do an "en masse" pollbook build or
something. We want to be able to simply load diskettes or PCMCIA cards by
hitting a load button repeatedly.
