GEMS exceptions are
always bugs, so post them to bugtrack. You didn't mention GEMS
version. Also, try to quote the exception error in the text of your post
-- its hard to do a search on a picture.
Under 1.17.20ish, this exception is triggered when GEMS has a
ballot rotation, but has no matching ballot style. That "can't happen", so
GEMS lets us know something is amis.
If you have a
sequence to reproduce the problem, we'll try to track it down. There was
nothing "wrong" with what you did -- putting a header on the back of the ballot
is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
Sorry no EB.
You gotta bring down GEMS for that.
Ken
This maybe should go to bugtrack, but it is late
and this is safer...
I was programming a very small election. I had
generated ballots several times with no probs. Then added the "Account" header
(database attached) and set it to appear on the back of the ballot in column
1. I had also linked it to race 10 to bring it onto the ballot automatically.
Maybe not the best thing to do, but I'm a rookie. (And do not ask me what I am
doing next week and the next two months.)
Upon generating ballots, I
got a GEMS exception error. Here is a capture of the Exception window to prove
it. I immediately captured the exception screen and backed up the database.
The exception was very repeatable then, but now upon reloading the gbf and
regenerating the EID before regenerating ballot artwork, I get no
exception.
Maybe does not qualify as a "hard crash", but I
tried.
Now, about that EB (that's "earned beer" to you
rookies)...
Mark - finally smiling after a crappy week. Good
night.
