Subject: RE: upgrading form 1-14 to 1-17
produces strikeover blue text when entering candidates
This was a tough
one...
I wasn't able to
reproduce the blue and underline, but I do get the strikeout. For the
blue and underline, go into the candidate tab of the setup ->
race options dialog and make it right.
Strikeout is a
problem though. I have looked at the 1.14 database and indeed the flag
for strikeout is set in the candidate defaults. I have no idea how it
got that way though. Its not a problem in 1.14 itself because 1.14
doesn't support strikeout, so the flag is just ignored. Once
you upgrade to 1.17 though, you see the strikeout in all new candidates.
Since GEMS doesn't have a strikeout button, there is no way to turn it
off.
Fix in
1.17.16.

not related - this is if you add a
race and a new candidate - no matter what fonts you set you still get
blue strikeout underline text --if you upgrade from 1-14-13 and then add
candidates you get the same blue strikeover underline the only
way around it is to cut and past candidates from another file -
db attached in 1-14-13 and 1-17

It doesn't
ring a bell, but that does not mean a lot.
Send me the DB
for reference either way. Are the existing candidates
blue-strikeout, or just new ones entered after the fact. You posted
a question regarding strikeout last week; are you sure this is not
unrelated to the upgrade? Anyone else seen this?
Ken
I have seen this before but
searching archives produced nothing -
