Diebold
Viewed as Technology Builder in Ohio The October 15
issue of the Akron Beacon
Journal chronicled Gov. Bob Taft's recent visit to Diebold
headquarters in North Canton, Ohio. The article discusses Ohio's position
in the United States as a technology builder in comparison to other
states. Kevin Newton, vice president of Global Design, is quoted in the
article as saying technology workers like to know they are moving into a
region with several employers with challenging job possibilities - and
it's important for Ohio to be able to support that in order to succeed.

Diebold Stock: What Happened Last Week
Shares of
Diebold (DBD) turned in their second straight weekly gain along with a
more positive sentiment in the overall markets. Volume was very
light early in the week. Tuesday saw DBD open on a $0.50 uptick from
the previous day's close and shoot higher by nearly $1.00 in the morning;
however, volume remained light. On Wednesday, overall markets turned
lower and passed along their technical rebound to DBD, which lost nearly
$1.00 in the first half hour's trading. Positive sentiment caused by
economic indicators including housing starts and industrial production
bounced consumer-related stock higher again on Thursday. On Friday,
DBD closed up $0.31 on high volume.
