buick
buick was named after my first car, a 1984 Buick Century. It is my
primary machine.
Hardware
- Motherboard: Intel PD440FX
- Processor: Pentium II (Klamath) at 266 MHz
- Memory: 128 MB EDO (4 x 32).
- Video: Number Nine something or other
- Audio: on-board Crystal CS4232 or something
- Fixed storage: Western Digital WD102BA 10 GB hard drive
- Removable storage: 3.5-inch floppy, IDE/ATA CD-ROM, Syquest SparQ
drive, USB-based external CD writer.
Software
buick runs Debian 3.1.
Long-term notes
- Switch from dump to tar when O_NOATIME is supported. Currently
planned for the release of Debian etch, and an upgrade to a Linux 2.6
series kernel.
